I Edition of the International Poetry Prize Víctor Valera Mora

The I Edition of the Internacional Poetry Prize Víctor Valera Mora was granted on April 30th 2006, on the eve of the commemoration of Víctor Valera Mora’s death. In this opportunity the award consisted of 215 millions of Bolívares, the equivalent of $100.000 at that moment, besides, a diploma. The work that resulted winner in this occasion was Antología Poética of Ramón Palomares (Venezuela). The verdict in this occasion established that the work is “in agreement with the participative culture headword that has a real context in the Venezuela that we are constructing”. The jury was integrated by Hispanic American poetry professionals Nicolás Suescún (Colombia), Miguel Anxo Fernán Vello (Spain), Norberto Codina (Cuba), Gabriel Jiménez Emán (Venezuela) and Gustavo Pereira (Venezuela). In this edition participated 211 works from 26 countries.
